Italians in Finland

I'm going to just write about the day that we spend in Helsinki.
We had a lovely day at Helsinki on saturday. We took a train to Helsinki and our first destination was Kiesma.

After Kiesma we moved on to finnish Desing museum. After that we went to Italian restaurant called Vapiano. I was a bit nervous about the fact that we are going to take our Italian friends to an finnish wannabe Italian restaurant. I was afraid that the food would be awfull version of real Italian food, but gladly it wasn't that bad.
After dinner we had free time in Helsinki. We went shopping and I heard that some of us went ice skating.
We had a blast and all and all we had a wonderfull day in Helsinki.

Italians in Finland

These days with our Italian friends have been amazing. Here in Finland we have done a lot of things, for example we went bowling and spend an evening grilling sausages & marshmallows. This project has given an amazing opportunity to meet wonderful people. Soon we are in Italy and I think everyone are pretty excited.

a week in Finland

We spent a special week with special people. All we did during that week were really great, despite the fact there were no snow here in Finland.
I believe that most of us think to be happy to be part of this project.

a week with Italians

We had a great week with our Italian friends. We did a lot of fun things together for example the trip to Nuuksio where we took photos for the workshops, and admired the beautiful landscape. In the evening we went to bowling, shopping to Jumbo and just spent time with our new friends. At school we took more photos for the workshops ans enjoyed our time.

A day with italian friends :)

The day started by bus trip to Nuuksio. Everyone were excited to go in the forest. In bus, Italians tried to speak Finnish. It was funny to listen how they said for excample numbers in Finnish. We arrived in Nuuksio and started to walk by stomping. Weather was so nice, sun shines few times. Nature were stunning, all the trees and iced lakes. Took many pictures, here is some:

It was my first time in Nuuksio and it left me some good memories.
Best wishes,

What would I show to my Italian friend? :)

My grandparents have a cottage in Saarijärvi. It's deep in the forest, nature surrounds it. The cottage is next to pond which have year around very cold water. Still I always go swim there :) The ponds water is very clear, you can see the ground easily.

Divers like to dive in the Saarijärvi because it is so deep. :)

Our trip to Nuuksio

Our project Travelling in the Italian and Finnish Landscape started with the arrival of our Italian friends from Liceo Artistico Cardarelli to Järvenpää Upper Secondary School on 25th February.  After settling down on Tuesday and getting acquainted,  our guests were escorted to Nuuksio National Park together with our students on Wednesday, the following day. We had planned to present a snowy Finnish forest with ice and frost but alas, climate change interfered in our plans. However, we still had enough contact with ice despite the lack of snow drifts. Tea Lindroos had planned an interesting photography session with white sheets to replace the snow. and everybody seemd to enjoy the activity. Afterwards we walked through the trail, taking photographs of the sights Nuuksio had to offer. At the end of the trail we were faced with the challenge of gliding down a long icy downward path or trekking through the forest to our coach. After this trial everybody was ready for the lunch at Haltia and for the two exhibitions on offer, the first one of which presented a multimedia show of Finnish nature and the second some design inspired by Arctic nature.
